Beauty Shop Barbie

Mom and I would like to thank whoever bought this Barbie for me. Lexi sat in her chair for about 20 minutes "brushing" her hair. Poor Lexi still doesn't have much hair of her own, but she is getting there. She likes to brush mine, but I'm not very patient with her so this was a great substitute.

Snow!

Here is our second snow of the season - remember the first was in October which Mom found unacceptable. I got out and played in it for a while before it got so cold that you could throw a glass of water in the air and it would freeze before it hit the ground (true story). However, this is nothing compared to what you will see in the days to come. We have documented the Blizzard of '09!

Let me out!!!

I am obsessive about this table being cleaned off.
Mom wishes I had the same obsession with the indoor tables.

Snow drift!

Check out the table - that's how much snow we got!
Somewhere between 9"-12"!

Good Help

Mom always says it's hard to find good help around here, but I now have evidence that I am nothing if not helpful. I'm even teaching Lexi how to be helpful. What more could could a mother ask for?

Hmmm. . .where should the next ornament go?

Right there!

See Lexi, this is how you are helpful.
Take the ornament off that Mom just put on.
It would look much better in the doll house,
or in my room, or on the kitchen table.
Anywhere except the tree!

Next, stand on top of the couch to get the rest of
the ornaments that are not placed correctly.
Try your best to fall on the Christmas tree and destroy it.
Don't worry if your first attempt is a failure -
we have an entire month to accomplish this.

Nope, Not Gonna Happen

Attempt #887. Mom in the background saying, "Work with me people!" Me refusing to cooperate, no matter how big the bribe. Lexi watching my every move so she can master all my misbehavior at a much earlier age. Mom still thinks she has a chance, but so far the score is Us: 887, Mom: O.

Star City Parade

We ventured out in the cold weather to go to our first parade a couple weeks ago. Apparently we didn't get there early enough to get a front row seat (which we didn't bring chairs for anyway), but Dad's shoulders worked just fine for me and Mom held Lexi. We enjoyed hot chocolate while we were waiting and got the heck out of there after we saw Elmo. It was just too cold to stay much longer and we were ready for lunch!

Help Me Rhonda!

Attempt #483 to get a decent picture of us together. It has to happen one of these days, right?

Thanksgiving 2009

Thought we better let you all see what we did at Thanksgiving before Christmas happens! We went to Callaway and hung out at Grandma Pandorf's farm. It's always great to go there because there are so many fun things to do and neat things to see that "city girls" don't get to experience very often.

There are lots of tractors there!

Dylan wondering why Lexi doesn't have hair.

Ava and I stealing turkey as it's being cut.

Aunt Tricia and I on a walk.

Dylan explaining to me that this is mud.
Apparently country boys like to play in it.

Jumping on the tramp.
I love how it's built into the ground!

Getting a lift from Uncle Shane.

(Another) Photoshoot Gone Wrong

All Mom wants is a nice picture. It's apparently not going to happen. Don't be surprised if you don't get a Christmas card this year. We have made several attempts to get a good picture, but are still empty handed. Maybe we will get one at an unexpected moment and send a random greeting. It's always nice to get mail when it's unexpected (at least that's what we are telling Mom).

Morrill Hall

We went to the "dinosaur museum" a couple of weeks ago. It was Lexi's first time to get to explore and she really liked it. I'm still not too crazy about the elephants when you walk in the door, but luckily I don't have to see them too long.

Lexi pointing at the beaver
and feeling its fur.

The ducks actually quack.

These geese let me pet them unlike
the ones we see at the parks.
I also didn't have to avoid poop
which is always a bonus.

Digging for bones.

Lexi trying out her digging skills.

Of course she had to taste it.

When we were done, she had this stuff
everywhere! What a mess!
