Me and "Jo"

My friend Jorja (I call her Jo for short) came to visit me from Cozad again last week. We went to eat lunch with them and then our Mom's had to get a little last minute Christmas shopping in. She was going to stay and play for a while when we all were done, but it started snowing so they had to head back home. I guess it's a good thing they did because she got sick later that night. I hope you are feeling better Jo!

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Mom and Dad think this picture is pretty telling of our personalities - I'm pretty high strung and Lexi is laid back. We went to see Santa last week to tell him what we wanted for Christmas.  I had already seen him a couple of times and waved to him because Mom was trying to get me warmed up for the big day. As we stood there waiting Dad kept asking me if I wanted to sit in Santa's lap and I kept saying no. I finally said yes, but I don't think Mom and Dad were fooled and knew I wasn't particularly fond of the idea. I overheard Mom tell the photographer to snap the camera as soon as I sat down and I guess it's a good thing she did. As soon as we walked away I waved and said "Bye, bye Ho, ho" (What I call Santa). I guess he's OK as long as he brings me presents and stays at a safe distance. Mom and Dad say this picture is pretty telling of our personalities - I'm pretty high strung and Lexi is laid back.

By the way, this is a picture of a picture so the quality isn't the best, but Mom just had to share.

Sisters

Mom and Dad are already having so much fun watching us together they can't wait to see what's to come.  If they only knew what I have up my sleeve once Lexi is a little older.  I still think being a big sister is pretty neat.  I'm a little obsessed with Lexi's pacifier, but I will share with her as you can see.  She really likes to watch me so I'm trying to teach her things like what an apple is so she'll know what I'm talking about when I tell her to go get me one.  The other thing I'm pretty adamant about is if Lexi gets a bib I need to have one also.  The good thing is Mom has a couple of holiday ones that are exactly alike so I don't have to figure out which one I like best.  Overall I still do my own thing, but I will occasionally run in the room and say "Hi baby!" and give Lexi kisses, but the next minute I'm jumping right by her head.  I guess that's just what big sisters are supposed to do.

Lexi loves to sleep!!!

What a difference a kid makes, or at least that what Mom and Dad say.  They tell me they had a hard time getting Kayla to sleep at all and now they have a hard time keeping me awake.  It's amazing what I can sleep through which is a good thing since Kayla isn't the quiet type!

Christmas Fun

Last night we went to a church in Lincoln that recreates the city of Bethlehem at the time of Jesus's birth. It was pretty amazing to see how much work they put into it and how all the volunteers stay in character as you are walking throughout the city. The first person I saw walking in was a Roman soldier and I was not impressed.  I made Dad carry me the rest of the time because I wasn't sure what would be coming up around the next corner. Mom promised we would see live animals and they had a donkey, goats, a cow and a camel. I was excited when we got to the end because they had a real, live baby playing Jesus! I had to look in the car seat to make sure they didn't have my baby Lexi. I went to give the baby Jesus the coin they gave us when we entered the city and it melted Mom's heart - until she found out it was Dad's coin - I couldn't give mine up! At least I didn't keep them both for myself! Lexi slept the entire time, but I bet we both enjoy it more next year.

Sweet Little Lexi

Lexi is such a sweet baby! The only time she cries is if she is hungry or gassy and she sleeps great. What a difference it is from her big sister! We can only hope she stays this way. Baths aren't a huge hit yet, but hopefully they grow on her a little. I had to include a sneak peak of our Christmas pictures. My friend Megan came to take them for us, but I couldn't resist taking one of my own so I could post it. I'll throw in one of Kayla for good measure!

All Bundled Up

Here we are all ready to get in the car.  Mom can't believe how long it takes to get two of us ready to go now.  Lexi had her two week check yesterday at 11:00 and it seemed like Mom was getting us ready from the time we got up and we still got there just in time. I'm sure it will get quicker once we all don't have to bundle up!

My Prized Possessions

Mom was taking a couple of pictures of Lexi and I decided she needed to take some pictures with me and some of my favorite things. Cookie Monster was my Uncle Dan's so his eyes aren't always in the right spot, but I still love him anyway. I watch him at least once a day on an episode of Sesame Street that Mom recorded. I don't know what we will ever do if it accidentally gets deleted!

Meeting Rusty

I got to meet Rusty for the first time on Sunday. I was kind of nervous because Kayla had told me that he likes to pick on little girls, but I don't know what she was talking about. He was really nice to me the whole time he was here and held me a lot so Mom could give some attention to my demanding sister. I hope we get to see him again real soon!

Our Thanksgiving

Mom didn't get as many pictures of Thanksgiving as she would have liked, but as you can imagine we were all pretty busy.  We had a nice day at home, but missed everyone in Callaway.  Hope to see you all soon!

I'm a Big Sister!!!

I am having so much fun being a big sister! Lexi is so much fun and a great little sister. I've turned into quite the helper as you can see. I enjoy getting diapers and handing Mom and Dad wipes when they need them. As you can see Dad was really proud leaving the hospital with his two girls and I was happy to have him and "baby" home. I'm sure to wipe off Lexi's mouth off if she spits up and I love to give her hugs and kisses. I've checked out her chair a lot since she has been home to make sure it is OK. Mom wonders why I like it so much now since I wouldn't sit in it when I was a baby. I also had to find out if Dad's swaddling technique was okay for Lexi. It must be pretty good because I couldn't get out and was pretty happy. Since I found out diapers are for babies I decided I should try to use the potty.  While waiting for something to happen I decided I should just brush my teeth. I have to be efficient with my time now that I am so busy.

Papa and GG

We were so happy to see Papa and GG last week. They stopped through on their way to Callaway for Thanksgiving while Mom and Lexi were still in the hospital. Lexi said she was really glad she got to meet them so soon. I got to go out to dinner with them and they brought me a really neat umbrella. I couldn't wait for rain to try it out so I had to chance the bad luck and open it inside. Hope to see you both again soon!
